The southern shoreline runs from the Ghanaian border to Liberia: lagoons behind the dunes, fishing villages, and a coast road that makes most of it drivable in a day. These are the stretches we send people to.

Not everywhere. The open ocean has a strong undertow in places, which is why lagoon-side and sheltered cove locations feature heavily in our itineraries. Your guide will tell you where to swim on each beach.
By private vehicle with a driver. Grand-Bassam and Assinie are easy day trips from Abidjan; Sassandra is better as an overnight.
