No. French is the official language, but all our guides work in English and also translate the local languages.
In markets and villages, you ask first. Some objects and ceremonies are not photographed at all. Your guide will tell you when to take the camera out, and it's a rule to follow without arguing.
Yes, directly from the workshops in Fakaha, Katiola or the Cocody artisan village. Buying at the workshop supports the maker rather than the middleman, and the quality has nothing to do with the tourist stalls.
